Easter Egg Hunt

Today was the city Easter Egg hunt. We decided to give it a try ... thinking that Payton wouldn't really participate. We practiced at home but all she would do was pick up one egg, show me, and say "ball" ... then she would proceed to play with that one egg and leave the rest. Our friends Julie and Christopher met us up there for the festivities.

I was pretty impressed with the way the city did the hunt this year. I am not sure how it has been done in the past but it was very organized and the treats for the kids were very age appropriate. For example, Payton was with the 2 and under group and they hunted snack size bags of cheerios, animal crackers, gold fish, teddy grahams, etc. There wasn't much candy and I at least appreciated that.


Anyway ... on to the hunt. Payton was a star ... you should of seen her go. She got the hang of it super quick and started grabbing 2 and 3 and a time before dropping them in her basket. Check her out!!!!

After we hunted eggs, we let the kids run. They played and ran around for a good 1 1/2 hours. They had so much fun ... Payton kept chasing Christopher all around. We were hoping that running them around that much would get them to take a really good nap ... b/c we sure needed it.
